SHARJAH, UAE / RankWire.AI / – Air Arabia plans to launch direct flights connecting Sharjah and Gdansk starting December 14, 2026, creating a new route between the UAE and northern Poland. The airline will operate five weekly flights between Sharjah International Airport and Gdansk Lech Walesa Airport. Services are scheduled for Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. This new connection will offer travelers from Poland’s Pomeranian region a direct air link to Sharjah.
On Mondays and Saturdays, flight G9 0628 will depart Sharjah at 4 p.m., arriving in Gdansk at 8 p.m. Meanwhile, G9 0629 will leave Gdansk at 8:50 p.m. and land in Sharjah at 6:10 a.m. the following day. Flights on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays will depart from Sharjah at 8:15 a.m., with the return service leaving Gdansk at 1:05 p.m. and arriving in Sharjah at 10:25 p.m.
Gdansk becomes Air Arabia’s fourth Polish destination from Sharjah following the airline’s announced expansion scheduled for December. The carrier already services Krakow and Warsaw Chopin Airport from its UAE hub and will add Katowice to its route network on December 17, 2026, just three days after the Gdansk launch. The Katowice route will operate four times weekly, further expanding the airline’s Polish network.
Gdansk enhances direct connectivity with northern Poland
The addition of Gdansk to Air Arabia’s routes introduces a Baltic coast destination to its European network from Sharjah. The airline also maintains flights to key European cities such as Athens, Vienna, Prague, Milan, Munich, Rome, and London Gatwick. Gdansk Airport serves not only the Tri-City area of Gdansk, Gdynia, and Sopot but also other parts of northern Poland. It provides both domestic and international links, facilitating travel for leisure and business travelers across the region.
Air Arabia Group CEO Adel Al Ali commented that the Gdansk route would bolster the airline’s presence in Poland. Tomasz Kloskowski, President of Gdansk Airport, emphasized the significance of the direct link between the Pomeranian region and the UAE. The airport has identified Sharjah as a key transfer hub for onward flights to destinations in India, Sri Lanka, Thailand, and East Africa. Consequently, the new flights will enable Gdansk passengers to connect to Air Arabia’s extensive network via its Sharjah base.
Scheduled debut in December with five weekly flights
Air Arabia deploys Airbus A320 and A321 aircraft across its network and has opened reservations for the Gdansk route. The airline’s schedule shows flight G9 0628 operating on Mondays and Saturdays from Sharjah, with G9 0629 serving the return legs. Services on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays will be operated by flights G9 0626 from Sharjah and G9 0627 from Gdansk. All scheduled times are local, and the route will be nonstop in both directions.
The route’s launch on December 14 will extend Air Arabia’s direct Polish route network ahead of the carrier’s planned Katowice service. Following the existing operations to Krakow and Warsaw, these two new destinations in December will give the airline a total of four Polish cities served from Sharjah. Gdansk will see five flights per week, while Katowice will have four, according to the announced schedules. Air Arabia continues to confirm the December 2026 start date and five flights weekly for the Gdansk route.
