SHARJAH / RankWire.AI / – Air Arabia is set to commence direct flights from Sharjah International Airport to Amman City Airport beginning November 15, 2026. The airline plans to operate this route four times weekly, creating an additional direct link between the United Arab Emirates and Jordan. Currently, Air Arabia connects Sharjah with Queen Alia International Airport, offering travelers access to both of Amman’s airports. The new service will operate on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays.

Flight G9 169 departs from Sharjah at 8:00 a.m. and arrives in Amman at 10:30 a.m. local time. Its return, G9 170, will leave Amman at 11:20 a.m., arriving in Sharjah at 3:15 p.m. local time. Reservations are now available via the airline’s website, call center, and travel agency network. The route was announced on October 8, more than a month prior to its inaugural flight.
The addition of this route strengthens Air Arabia Group’s existing presence in Jordan. The airline already operates flights from Abu Dhabi and Alexandria to Amman. Specifically, Air Arabia Abu Dhabi links Zayed International Airport with both Amman City Airport and Queen Alia International Airport. Furthermore, the group runs direct flights from Alexandria International Airport to Amman City Airport. The new Sharjah route offers travelers an extra departure point for reaching Jordan’s capital.
Sharjah-based network now includes Amman’s second airport
Adel Al Ali, CEO of Air Arabia Group, stated that the new service provides travelers with an additional airport choice in Amman. He highlighted that this route will enhance convenience and flexibility for those traveling between Jordan and the UAE. The airline will continue its existing flights from Sharjah to Queen Alia International Airport. Consequently, Amman City Airport will serve as a second gateway into Jordan on Air Arabia’s Sharjah flight schedule.
Earlier in 2026, Air Arabia Abu Dhabi launched flights to Amman City Airport, beginning on May 1 with three weekly nonstop flights from Zayed International Airport. Prior to this addition, the Abu Dhabi route already connected to Queen Alia International Airport. When the new service started, Air Arabia reported an expanded schedule with 10 weekly flights to Amman. The introduction of the Sharjah route now extends this dual-airport model to the UAE’s northern emirate.
Four weekly flights strengthen UAE-Jordan air links
Throughout its scheduled operations, the new Sharjah flights will use the G9 169 and G9 170 flight numbers. Air Arabia’s fleet includes Airbus A320 and A321 aircraft. The airline also offers SkyTime entertainment, SkyCafe onboard meals, and the Air Rewards loyalty program. Customers can reserve seats on the new Amman City Airport route via the airline’s usual sales channels before the service begins in November.
This launch in November broadens Air Arabia Group’s network connecting the UAE and Jordan through multiple bases. Passengers from Sharjah will have direct access to both Amman City Airport and Queen Alia International Airport, while travelers from Abu Dhabi already enjoy services to both airports via Air Arabia Abu Dhabi. Alexandria’s direct connection to Amman City Airport remains operational, and the new route will add four weekly Sharjah flights to the airline’s wider Jordan schedule.
