CAIRO / MENA Newswire / – UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan met Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi in Cairo during a fraternal visit focused on UAE-Egypt relations and regional developments. The talks covered cooperation across several sectors, with emphasis on development fields. Both leaders discussed ways to strengthen ties in support of mutual interests and the welfare of people in both countries.

El-Sisi received Sheikh Mohamed at Cairo International Airport earlier in the day. The visit continued at Al-Ittihadiya Palace, where the two leaders held expanded talks with delegations from both countries. They also held a bilateral meeting. The Egyptian Presidency said El-Sisi later hosted an official lunch in honor of Sheikh Mohamed and the accompanying UAE delegation.
The talks reviewed regional and international issues of mutual concern. The leaders focused on developments in the Middle East and their effects on regional and international security. They stressed the importance of peace and stability as foundations for development. They also reaffirmed continued consultation on shared challenges facing the region.
Development ties remain central
The UAE and Egypt maintain broad political, economic, and development relations. During the Cairo meeting, the two leaders reviewed cooperation in areas linked to national development priorities. The discussions also covered opportunities to expand coordination between both countries. Officials from both sides attended the wider session, reflecting the institutional nature of the bilateral relationship.
El-Sisi affirmed the strategic and deeply rooted nature of Egyptian-Emirati relations. He also reiterated Egypt’s support for the stability and sovereignty of the United Arab Emirates. He said the security of the UAE and Gulf states forms part of Egypt’s national security. Sheikh Mohamed expressed appreciation for Egypt’s position and for the reception extended to him and his delegation.
Regional coordination reviewed
A separate Egyptian account of the talks said both leaders welcomed a recently concluded agreement to end the conflict with Iran and reopen the Strait of Hormuz. It said they discussed Arab coordination on regional issues of shared concern. El-Sisi also outlined Egypt’s view that regional crises require comprehensive and lasting peaceful solutions.
Sheikh Mohamed was accompanied by a UAE delegation that included Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Court for Special Affairs, and Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Tahnoon Al Nahyan, adviser to the UAE President. Ministers and senior officials also joined the visit, which formed part of continuing consultations between Cairo and Abu Dhabi.
